Gelusil® is safe for occasional heartburn sufferers. It's also safe for frequent heartburn sufferers who take Nexium®, Prevacid®, Prilosec OTC®, and other 24-hour PPI acid reducers. As with all medications, ask your doctor if you have questions.
Consult your doctor before using Gelusil® if you have kidney disease, are on a magnesium-restricted diet, are taking a prescription drug, or are pregnant or nursing. Stop using Gelusil® if symptoms last more than two weeks.
