Gelusil® is the #1 rescue treatment for immediate heartburn relief.*

If you experience heartburn or acid indigestion between doses of Nexium®, Prevacid®, Prilosec OTC®, or another 24-hour medication, you're not alone. Nearly 1 in 2 people on a PPI acid reducer need a rescue heartburn treatment.1

For more than 70 years, Gelusil® has provided fast relief when heartburn symptoms flare up. Its unique combination formula is different from other antacids. It contains aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide to relieve heartburn and acid indigestion, and it has not been associated with acid rebound. Another active ingredient in Gelusil® is simethicone, which relieves bloating and gas.

Gelusil® is strong enough for occasional, everyday heartburn relief — including nighttime heartburn. And it's safe enough to take with 24-hour heartburn medications — like Nexium®, Prevacid®, and Prilosec OTC® — if symptoms flare up between doses.

Gelusil® is the #1 brand used in clinical studies in patients who experienced heartburn after taking a PPI acid reducer.*

In a review of PPI acid reducer research studies that permitted the use of a traditional antacid for breakthrough heartburn, Gelusil® was used most often. In fact, Gelusil® was used more than all other antacid brands combined.1

Since Gelusil® was used most often in PPI acid reducer clinical trials for breakthrough heartburn relief, that's good news if you take Nexium®, Prevacid®, Prilosec OTC®, or another PPI acid reducer. Take Gelusil® when heartburn symptoms occur between doses of your 24-hour heartburn medication.
